Job Description

Abramson Senior Care is seeking a Regional Director of Nursing to provide clinical oversight for Home Care, Hospice, and Community Based Services as a member of the leadership team. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Community Based Services.

The Regional Director of Nursing for Home and Community Based Services oversees Home Care, Hospice and assigned facilities in regards to (but not limited to): patient care, State & Federal surveys, regulatory compliance and clinical services. The position will develop, implement and sustain a replicable model for clinical services which includes driving clinical outcomes, implementing clinical policies/procedures and ensuring compliance with State/Federal regulations & standards of care. In addition, the Regional Director of Nursing may be temporarily assigned to function in an interim clinical position in a facility on an as needed basis.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, the medical community, and management to ensure information is shared appropriately among the team.
  • Provides supervision to direct reports on an on-going basis to ensure compliance.
  • Serves as a member of the Management Team and QAPI Team according to required time frames and participates in annual strategic planning process.
  • Develops and implements clinical programming as directed by the organization to achieve operational and clinical goals aligned with the strategic plan of the company.
  • Responds to alleged violations, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of practice by initiating investigative procedures.
  • Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations in concert with the management
  • Acts as an independent reviewer and evaluator to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Working knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to Home Care and Hospice.
  • Leads/participates on committees as required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Travels independently to assigned program sites as needed.
  • Maintains on call availability for clinical support to direct reports.

Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

  • Minimum Experience: 5 years’ experience in Home Care and/or Hospice with relevant management experience.
  • Preferred Experience: Previous nursing administrative experience. Previous oversight of multiple service locations
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration or other administrative area.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid PA RN Licensure.
